LOST - 06x15

Post your thoughts on tonight's episode of LOST here.
Spec is welcome (good luck with that) but no spoilers please.
- Stuffs happening. People are talking a lot. Campfires. Still don't know what is going on more than I did last week. Same info.
- Jack took the cup. Fitting I suppose. Is that the end to Jack/Kate then?
- Ben gets one look at Widmore and is all back to the Kill Penny thing. And I had such high hopes.
- Did Sayid pull Desmond out, or just not kill him? If he didn't pull him out who did?
- It was nice to see Alex and the French Lady again. Ben in the sideways is still having a decent life. I wonder if it will go terribly wrong there or the island Ben will go terribly right. Because right now it isn't lined up very well.
- I still want Desmond/Penny. *sniff*
- Anna Lucia! She isn't bad exactly, but shady enough to match her island counterpart in spirit.
- Jack buys what Jacob says, but Sawyer is giving those sideways i'm-gonna-kill-you looks still. Homey don't play that.
- I am still sorta hoping that island Locke can be saved. I know he is a dead body and all, but it just seems weird where it stands. Maybe there is a way to return the genie to the bottle and get our Locke back.
I love that Jack not only had a cup, not only did he drink from the cup--but he chugged it until it was gone.
No dainty sipping for Jack!
(uses the very first Jack icon you made for me)
Hahahaha! I noticed that, too, Jillian! If he was going to do this, he was going to do it right!!! :P
Aw. Back when he was green and new. (((Jack)))
I think that may go down as one of my top 5 favorite episodes. Top 10 definitely.
I giggle-cried through the whole episode, and laughed maniacally a few times, too. Watching the two timelines merge = pure joy.
I was not surprised that Jack is the new Jacob, but I was very surprised at the turn Ben took. I want to believe there's more to it--a benevolent motive hidden in there somewhere. Or, maybe seeing Alex's grave just made him snap?
It was great to see Danielle and Alex together and I loved the scene with Ben. I felt like he was either attracted to Danielle, remembering her, or maybe a little of both. I liked how touched he was when Danielle said he was the closest thing Alex had to a father. Interesting that her father died anyway. Some things are just written in stone, I guess.
I could have nearly had a Depends moment when Ana-Lucia threw open the back of the van and Hurley drives up with the money. BRILLIANT! It looks like Hurley and Desmond's consciousnesses have fully merged with the other timeline. Interesting. I guess it only goes one way, though. It brings up all sorts of complicated ideas about dopplegangers and whatnot, but I'm just letting that roll off my back. It is what it is. And I love it.
I guess we're going to see Jack's ex-wife afterall. Still betting on Juliet. Wondering why Des wants to take Kate to the concert. Maybe just to get Sawyer there so he'll bump into Jules?
Was very shocked that Ben killed Widmore, btw. Didn't see that one coming.
This is the end... I can't wait to see where it goes!!!
P.S. More thoughts...
Trying to understand Little Jacob.
He's not a ghost and he's not a Smokey manifestation. So what is he? Perhaps Jacob, as a ghost, can manifest as any previous form of himself? But if so, what was the point of appearing as the child to Hurley? Why not just show up as Jacob and ask for the ashes?
Loved the explanation of why Kate was crossed off the cave wall. Not that it matters now, but I guess that means it was Jin Jacob was after all along. Certainly fits with the candidates = flawed formula.
Also forgot to mention poor Richard. I think he wanted to die and that's why he did what he did. :(
OH!!! AND CLAIRE!!! Her scene may have been short but I LOVED LOVED LOVED the way the Shephard boys were fussing over her and just completely awed by her. ♥♥♥Edited at 2010-05-19 04:41 am (UTC)
Yes! fussing over Claire was cuuuute.
I am glad you liked it so much. I didn't like or dislike it. I think I'll be numb until everything is over and it hits me. I am sorta just accepting everything that happens as it happens.
I am betting it is Juliet too, though with her other show going maybe they could only get her for a day of shooting or something.
Kate/Sawyer/Jack will likely be at the concert. Maybe that has something to do with it. Should be exciting...Juliet will be there too. Juliet and Sawyer. they really need to go out for coffee at some point.
I liked how touched he was when Danielle said he was the closest thing Alex had to a father.
I cracked up when she said, "You're coming to dinner if I have to kidnap you!" (paraphrase). Echoing his getting caught in her net way back when.
I got teary eyed with all of the Ben stuff. Gosh, I love him and he breaks my heart and I think he's got some sort of game plan because Miles = Walkie Talkie. Did they go into the closet because Ben said they were there and they heard it? Did they give BSM bad info? Nah... I don't think Widmore would just let Ben shoot him. Still... something's going down.
I'm actually sort of glad I'm watching the final episode by myself so I can cry whenever I feel like it.
Glad they glossed over Jack's obvious succession to Jacob--but the fast play on that leads me to believe it's not going to end there. Destroying the island means destroying Jack now? Y/N? Or maybe destroying the island releases Jack too?
I think Sawyer and Kate will struggle with leaving Jack. (Sawyer moreso now after the Jin/Sun snafu...)
I realize now that I've had a lot of LOST icons for a long time. Some from the very beginning and they were always useful to me over the past six years. Wah...
we should do a post of 'favorite LOST moments' before Sunday.
specifically so I can gush about Jack's S1 pink shirt (rarr
) and the key necklace (rarr
all this is making me want to go back and rewatch from the beginning. Like the bit about 'watching out for the black smoke' at the end of S1, yes?
I do hope there is more to Ben's plan. Perhaps he still intends to help the others but wanted Widmore out of the way. Maybe he just really didn't trust him? I'm not even sure I really trusted him. Do you think Jacob really went to Widmore? It just sounded so fake and cheesy, "Jacob came to me and made me see the error of my ways..." Mmmm... not sure I'm buying it. But, I also think it was revenge. I don't think he really intends to kill Penny, but I think he wanted that fear to be on Widmore's mind as he died.
♥ the key necklace! :)
Ooo, and am *definitely* re-watching.
You know... maybe that's something we could do as a group? Like a book club, but with Lost episodes. Maybe take a break and then in August or September start with one episode a week?
I know there were a lot of re-watch groups pre-season 6, but I think it'd be more fun knowing what we'll know after Sunday. ;)Edited at 2010-05-19 08:13 am (UTC)
I'm not sure if I could keep up with or go slowly. I have a mad habit of binge watching TV on DVD then going on famines. But it would be fun to rehash as it comes up.
